PURPOSE
To perform formation evaluation, monitor pre and post-drilling operations and supervise mud logging and wireline logging activities ensuring they are carried out in the most safe and cost-effective manner, according to CLIENT Technical & HSE requirements, working closely with the drilling team (company man, drilling engineer, toolpusher and rig crew) providing advice when necessary to ensure safe drilling and non-drilling operations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
– To ensure full compliance with the CLIENT HSE policies and procedures, HSE Standards and other appropriate CLIENT HSE documents.
– To review the drilling prognosis program and attend pre-spud meetings
– To collect and prepare all the information (technical package, correlations, offset well logs, maps, etc.) to control the drilling and geological operations
– To provide all the necessary information to the contractors, and be sure all the operations are clear
– To perform a quality control of the mud logging Service Company and ensuring compliance with all the specifications defined in the SOW
– To check and perform a quality control of all the reports and logs delivered by the contractors, prior to sending them to CLIENT
– To monitor and supervise the collection, processing and dispatching of formation evaluation samples
– To safe-guarde the storage and transmission of information and reports collected/generated at the wellsite
– To perform a quality control of all the logs and the evaluations prior to accepting the data from the services companies
– To supervise the Formation Evaluation contractors (mud logging geologists, MWD logging engineers, wireline logging engineers, coring and well testing personnel)
REQUIREMENTS
– Geological experience in Argelia. Reggane Basin geological knowledge is highly considered
– Strong technical skills in petroleum operations, production geology, drilling and completions
– Excellent knowledge of written English. French is highly considered
– Good communication and negotiating skills, ability to work in multicultural teams
Senior Specialist:
– At least 15 years relevant working experience in operations and production geology of which:
– Minimum 10 years in development projects for the Oil & Gas industry
– Minimum 5 years in projects developed in desert environments
– Bachelor´s degree in Geology
Specialist
– At least 10 years relevant working experience in operations and production geology of which:
– Minimum 7 years in development projects for the Oil & Gas industry
– Minimum 3 years in projects developed in desert environments
– Bachelor´s degree in Geology
