Sales Director

As our Sales Director, you’ll provide category sales leadership by developing category distribution strategies which result in maximum revenue, profit, and market share for Nike.

You’ll create consumer focused holistic marketplace distribution strategies that drive long term sustainable growth and deliver fully integrated product stories differentiated by consumer experience.

You’ll be accountable for developing and executing seasonal, quarterly, annual and three-year revenue plans that deliver to Categorical and Regional targets.

You’ll drive profitability through accurate forecasting, scenario planning, account financial planning and goaling based on business analysis to evaluate marketplace capacity, market-share availability and consumer demand.

You’ll be accountable for effective budget management. You’ll lead the Regional Category Sales Team to deliver against category business strategy and priority objectives. You’ll be responsible for creating a diverse high performing team by developing qualified candidate pools, hiring, coaching and counseling sales reps consistent with Playmode guidelines and Local laws.

You’ll develop consumer focused assortment plans and integrated category merchandising plans by channel of distribution and consumer experience. You’ll work with categories and business units to develop theme and overall presentation as well as showroom strategy that delivers category leadership through integration and highlights the consumer experience.

You’ll present to priority accounts and prioritize retailers and develop consumer focused account strategy that delivers category leadership and elevated consumer experience by category and market. You’ll maximize retailer profitability through sales analysis and financial planning to ensure long term sustainable growth.

You’ll deliver Premium Customer Experience by building relationships, proactively delivering solution orientation, maintaining appropriate meeting cadence and strengthening the Customer partnership.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position include:

• 8 years’ experience from sales, retail management, product marketing, or retail presentation

• Bachelor’s degree or an additional 2 years’ relevant work experience in lieu of a degree

• Experience and/or in-depth understanding of product development and creation of product briefs a plus

• Must understand the competitive market, customers and retail trends

• Must have the ability to use financial data to make decisions and maximize account profitability

• Must have the ability to understand complex business issues, find creative solutions, and make sound decisions

• 3 years’ Account Management / field sales experience

• Strong understanding of sales processes, policies, and procedures

• Strategic Account and Regional Sales experience with large volume

• Category sport experience preferred

• Athletic product experience preferred

• Proven ability to create and drive strategic business planning

• Financial / budget management. Proven ability to create and manage a budget

• Corporate Matrix experience and ability to influence outcomes through networking & negotiating

• Brand management

• Experience directing and leading a process/function or team

• Presenting to groups, including senior leaders

• Must have experience working in a dynamic and fast paced environment

• Must have exceptional communication skills, including the abilities to elicit information, actively listen, dialogue freely, verbalize ideas effectively, negotiate tense situations successfully and manage and resolve conflict

• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with clear, concise written messages through memos, e-mails and reports

• Strong understanding of retail math, seasonal assortment planning, business planning, retailer relationships and the leadership product process

• Strong understanding of NIKE product lines preferred

• Prefer experience managing team of direct reports and indirect reports preferred

• Ability to travel up to 25% of time
