The U.S. Embassy in Algeria is seeking an individual for the position of Medical Assistant in the Health Unit.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The Medical Assistant will work in collaboration with and provides support to the medical staff by performing both clinical and administrative skills in the Embassy health unit Algiers (HU) and the medical care environment.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1- Required Education: Three years medical studies in paramedical or university of medicine is required.
2- Prior Work Experience: Two years experience as a medical assistant with administrative duties in a medical office is required.
3- Language Proficiency: Level IV English, French and Arabic are required.
4- Other criteria: Excellent written and oral skills. Use of office computer applications such as word processing, excel spreadsheets, email, Internet. Understanding of basic medical office workings and/or medical terminology. Basic understanding of the local medical community. Good office working knowledge.
5- Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Customer service oriented and ability to interface with a variety of people; must be organized, tactful, and understand confidentiality. Computer skills operate basic office machinery, basic medical equipment, simple math, Able to translate French medical documents into English. Attention to details while under pressure and with competing priorities. Must be able to draft and translate in English and French.
