The PeopleSoft Developer will be a member of a large (50+ member) internal development team responsible for providing a stable technical environment for GE’s Payroll, Benefits, and Pension functions. Along with providing support, members on the team actively develop new features and functionality to support our customer’s business requirements/needs.

Essential Responsibilities:

– Maintain existing customizations and application functionality

– Debug production issues

– Develop new Pages/Reports/Interfaces

– Develop new application enhancements

– Write technical specifications

– Document system changes

– Provide on-call support

– Review technical designs to ensure compliance with organizational standards

Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field

– Minimum 2 years of HCM Application Development experience (Payroll, Benefits, and/or Pension Administration)

Eligibility Requirements:

– Must submit your application for employment through COS (Internal Candidates) or GECareers.com (External Candidates) to be considered for this opening

– Must be 18 years of age or older

– GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen

– Must be willing to work out of an office in Van Buren, MI

– Must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act

Desired Characteristics:

– Proficiency with PeopleTools, PeopleCode, SQR, XML, and Application Engines

– Overall, strong technical skills, with a capacity to quickly understand new concepts and analyze system deficiencies

– Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities

– Working knowledge of Oracle databases, including SQL and PL / SQL

– Strong analytical skills – strong problem solving skills, communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve

– Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources

– Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships and creates processes from the customer’s viewpoint
