Perform design, select, size and specify instrumentation and control systems.
The candidate must have experience of the following:
– Preparation and review of detailed specification, instrument datasheets, purchase requisitions and installation instructions, instrument datasheets and do sizing calculation for control and safety valves.
– Preparation of layouts, hook up drawings and termination drawings. Review drawings for compliance with specifications and checks for adequate content
– Carry out work in accordance with company and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems.
– Ensure that the required technical quality of work is maintained.
– Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures, standards and regulations.
– Participation in engineering reviews and risk Identification/Hazard Analysis, HAZOP, FMEA, and SIL studies
– Working closely with other engineering disciplines and ensuring that the instrument deliverables are consistent and complete within the project schedule and costs.
– Highly experienced in use of design and assessment methods used within discipline
– Experience in preparing RFQs and participate in technical clarification meetings
– Experienced in use of analytical methods used within discipline
– Experience with the interpretation of P&ID’s
– Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in working to international codes/standards and recommended practices used in the oil and gas industry related to DCS, ESD, F&G, SCADA and Instrumentation systems
– Experienced at risk identification/hazard analysis
– Experienced of data sheets and design deliverables
– Experienced in preparation of control system shutdown specification
– Experienced in preparation of cause and effect diagrams
– Experienced in preparation of control narratives
– Experienced in preparation of fire and gas detection systems
– Must be able to interpret owners specifications & standards intended for the project
– Experienced in calculation and selection of control and safety valves
– Familiar with major manufacturers’ DCS, ESD, control systems and field instruments
– Familiarity with installations in areas of explosion hazard.
– Knowledge and familiarity of current instrumentation design software
– Experienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work
Qualifications:
– Must hold a degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation or Control Engineering.
– Must have 5 to 10 years of Pre-FEED and FEED experience in the Oil & Gas industry
– Must be fluent in English (Read, Write, Speak)
